FLEET MANAGEMENT:
Fleet management is the management of vehicles such as cars, trucks, vans, ships and rail which are used by a company. the role oversees the Fleet (vehicles owned by the business) and it is crucial for any fleet manager to keep these vehicles on the road, reduce fuel costs and embrace Telematics.
TELEMATICS:
A telematics system is mounted in a vehicle and pinpoints a car’s location using GPS, this data can be collated and displayed in a fleet management system such as AdvancedFleet. In this system you will be able to monitor speeds, driver behaviour reports and much more.
DASHBOARD:
A user interface that organises and presents information, performance and other data relating to the user.
TACHOGRAPH:
A machine inside a vehicle such as a truck that records speed, distance travelled, and stopping periods, used to control the driver’s legal hours of work
GEOFENCE:
A geofence is an area in which can be monitored virtually. If an object moves out of a certain range, an individual will receive a message/notification that the object is outside the permitted range
OBD:
OBD sytems are designed to monitor the performance of some of an engine’s major components providing access to the status of the various vehicle sub-systems.
CANbus:
Modern vehicles use a CANbus to transfer information between the various electronic vehicle systems.
